Its hard enough to sift through the thousands of websites looking for a web design service. How do you know if the company is reputable?

First thing is type the companies name in google. By searching the companies name in google it will bring up the most recent information on this company. Most complaints about companies show up in the search engines from other websites such as rip off report and complaint boards.

The second way to check if a company is reputable is using the BBB. The BBB rates companies by complaints. This can help you choose a company by reading the complaints, if there are none thats a good start. I recently checked the BBB for a very popular web design company (HIT) and learned they had more than 640 complaints. This is not a good thing, why would anyone trust this company with their private information such as credit card or personal data.

Just remember to do your research whether it be on google or the BBB. Taking a small amount of time to research the company before giving your credit card or personal data can save you frustration and lost money.
